Reserve Your National Park Stay
As one of Americans' favorite resources, the national parks are so popular for vacations that room at the official campgrounds is often hard to come by. Sending a certified letter with a money order representing a few nights' deposit to reserve a Yellowstone RV site -- two years ahead of arrival -- is not unheard of! Fortunately, the Internet has made reserving ahead easier than ever for families.

Even better, reservations at 22 parks and three national sites can now be made up to five months in advance by phone. To ease phone congestion, however, each park can be booked only certain days of the month.
For many of the top family parks, including Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon; Acadia in Maine; Cape Hatteras, NC; the Everglades, FL; Katmai in Alaska and 15 other family-favorites, call 800/365-2267 after the 5th day of the month.
For reservations at Yosemite, California only, call 800/436-7275 after the 15th of the month.
For tour reservations at Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico; Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, Washington, DC and Mammoth Cave, Kentucky; call 800/967-2283 after the 25th of the month.
