Create lasting memories for yourself and your grandchildren with a European adventure! Grandtravel is a travel company offering trips appealing to both generations with itineraries organized to enhance school programs. They are offering a 10-day "London & Paris" trip, geared for grandchildren 12 to 17-years-old and their grandparents (parents not allowed!).

The tour offers sightseeing highlights of both cities that will delight grandparents and grandchildren alike. Visit two of London's most historic landmarks: the notorious Tower of London which has been everything from a palace to a prison in its 900 year history. Then check out Gothic Westminster Abbey where every coronation has taken place since 1066. Discover St. Paul's Cathedral, the first domed cathedral built in England, rising out of the ashes of the Great Fire in 1666. Watch the historic and solemn changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

A highlight of the London tour is a ride on the world-famous red double-decker buses, in which visitors explore the West End, where world-renowned theatres are located. Travelers will be delighted by tours of famous playhouses such as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, where travelers will view two popular plays, and the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. London accommodations entail the charming City Inn Westminster, near the London Eye, the world's highest observation wheel, revealing dynamic views of the city during its rotation.

Enjoy a ride through the underground Chunnel beneath the English Channel, on a high-speed train from London to Paris. A stop at a French bakery will let you in on the secrets of creating delicious Pain aux raisons and Pain au chocolat. In Paris, museums are a central focus, with visits to the Musee D'Orsay, where the works of Degas, Cezanne, Monet, and Renoir grace the walls, and the intriguing Montmartre artist quarter, home to the magnificent Byzantine-style basilica of Sacre-Coeur, which captivates visitors with its spectacular architecture and views of Paris, and where Picasso himself once lived. Escape to Giverny where Claude Monet's beautiful gardens and home spawned numerous creative works.

Both London and Paris tours entail a history of the cities, with visits to Windsor Castle, where visitors witness the breathtaking views of the Queens decorative State Apartments. Other historical landmarks along the London trail include St. George's Chapel, Queen Mary's Doll House, Eton College, founded by Henry VI, and attended by Princes William and Harry.

In Paris guests will stay at the Hotel Royal Saint Honore, in the historical district, just steps away from the Place Vendrome and the Louvre, where Tom Hanks filmed The Da Vinci Code. Travel to the 17th century Palace of Versailles, designed for Louis XIV, and home to all the French kings from 1682 until 1790. The Paris tour also includes a relaxing farewell Bateau Mouche dinner cruise on the Seine River and dinner high above the City of Lights atop the Eiffel Tower.

"London & Paris" includes deluxe accommodations, most meals, transportation, and admission to all scheduled attractions. Ground transportation is provided by air-conditioned motor coaches and there are puzzles, games, and arts and crafts available for entertainment en route.

Grandtravel also offers pre-departure guidance and the services of a professional tour manager. On every tour there is a Grandtravel Activities Director who is either an experienced educator or a youth counselor and is responsible for providing educational and cultural activities. The cost of this 10D trip, departing July 18 and August 1, 2009, is $7,195 per person based on double occupancy and $6,995 pp based on triple occupancy. AARP members are eligible to receive a $200 pp discount.
