While some facilities will be braving the cold this year, others are wrapping up their summer season, along with some great deals. Check out these RV campgrounds and camping sites and choose your ideal family adventure in the beautiful mountains of New Hampshire.

Operating until the 15th of October, this family-friendly facility offers everything from kayak and canoe rentals to fire truck hayrides. With a deal at $25/N for two adults and two children, the family can enjoy their own campsite fit for one sleeping unit, one vehicle, free Wi-Fi, and a picnic table as well as fire ring perfect for S’more-making and more. There’s plenty of nearby attractions for both kids and adults, including the Conway Scenic Railroad and several shopping outlets.

Not far from Pine Knoll on the New Hampshire-Maine border, the Glen Ellis campground provides an experience for those who love the outdoors, but may want to bring a piece of home along with them. Rates start at $30/N for 30-amp hookups for RVs, while 50-amp hookups begin at $50/N for two adults and two children – and with an on-site laundromat, no one has to worry about smelly underclothes. If that’s not enough, try the $150/N special for a two-bedroom trailer, complete with a furnished kitchen, bath/shower, TV with DVD, picnic table and fire ring. Act now, though – the campsite will be closing on October 14. When the kids aren’t having the time to their lives exploring the area and participating in activities in the Game Barn, consider taking a short side trip to the area’s local attraction, Story Land, open until the first week of October.
Woodland Acres Campground

Just across the border of Maine lies Woodland Acres, a dream vacation for kids with the site’s intimate beach area and large playground, as well as activities such as volleyball and horseshoes and on-site recreation hall complete with pool tables and video games. For the same number of guests, families can pull in their trailers or motor homes for only $30/N. While each site includes both water and electricity, the campground also includes an on-site laundromat, a 24-hour convenience store with a game room, and a large playground. Parents and their children can bond over fishing and boating activities at the site’s pristine lake or even take a short ride down to Monkey Trunks, where all ages can enjoy fun, safe and challenging rope course activities. For families who really want to rough it, visit the campground for the highly discounted Winter Rates after October 11. The water is turned off during this period which means it is only $11/N.

Farther south in Freedom, NH, Danforth Bay’s offers are hard to pass up at $32/N per tent site for two adults and two children. For those who are less outdoor-savvy and enjoy the comforts of home away from home, cabins are available for $95/N until November 1. These facilities, with their scenic New England lakeside views, include kitchenettes, WiFi, cable hook ups, and private baths, while central facilities include all that and more. Campers who stay seven nights or more can save up to 10%, while a 20% discount if offered for fall stays for days Sunday through Thursday. This timing for savings couldn’t be more perfect, as several events - the Fryeburg Fair, Sandwich Fair and Pumpkin Patch Weekend – are taking place throughout the month of October.
