Q- Suzanne H. of Los Angeles, California inquires: I am looking for an all-inclusive resort for my 1 and 3-year-old on the east coast in August.

A - While the all-inclusive concept is not very common on the east coast, we do have a few suggestions for you.  Also, as you may know, most resorts do not offer organized programs for children under the age of 4 or so.  However, FTF has researched and reviewed those that do in our annual (1998-2003) surveys of the "Top Ten Getaways for Tiny Travelers," offering excellent facilities for the entire family, including infants and toddlers.  We are including some "Top Ten" winners below:

Read FTF for a review of one of our all-time favorite resorts, "The Tyler Place" on Lake Champlain in Vermont.  Also located on Lake Champlain is the "Basin Harbor Club" which is also very popular with families, although it is more formal than Tyler Place.  Another New England resort, The Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, is a gorgeous, old-world hotel which offers a modified American plan and lots of family activities.  While our story "Bretton Woods Mountain Resort" focuses on a winter ski vacation, they are open year-round.

The Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania offer a few possibilities: "Skytop Lodge" and "Woodloch Pines."

If Florida is a possibility, there is a very popular "Club Med Sandpiper" on the Port St. Lucie River, a few miles from the ocean.  They have a baby club, good food and all the sports activities you want.
