Being a parent keeps getting harder. You’re bombarded with advice from friends, colleagues, acquaintances, annoying family members, and even strangers on the street, who all claim to have the secrets to child rearing. With all of that information, picking the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective products for your child can be a daunting task. Have no fear- Consumer Reports is here to help!

Back with their 10th edition of Consumer Reports: Best Baby Products, Consumer Reports is advising all expectant and current parents on the best buys for you and your baby. Filled with all of the products you could ever think of, this book will guide you through the good and bad buys, providing you with an in-depth look into the must-haves and the things you can do without, despite what your mother-in-law says.

Products included in the guide range from kid-friendly cars to baby bottles and food, as well as the essentials like cribs, strollers, and diapers, diapers, diapers! Also in the guide are safety ratings and other tips that help weed out the bad products from the good. Providing money advice, the guide assists you in reducing costs, informing you that although the very expensive designer onesie is really cute, your baby won’t get much use out of it, so it’s not worth the hassle.

A lifesaver for new parents, this guide includes a Master Checklist, outlining all of the necessary products, categorized by season, medicine essentials, and all of the most important areas of baby care. And, to save parents from running around town, from store to store, looking for specific products, the book includes a Where-to-Buy Guide, giving parents the 411 on which stores have the products you need.

If you're expecting your first child this is a must-read. Even if you're a veteran to baby care, this book will give you the most up-to-date information regarding the top products on the market today.

I bought this book (older version) when my son was born 3 years ago and it amazed me! so much info! Now that I have a newborn daughter and have become a "green" mom I am wondering if this new book has any products in it that are organic. I have been using a book called "Healthy Baby Happy Home" that has tons of organic baby product suggestions and it has changed my buying habits a lot. I would love to see a big name like Consumer Reports with a guide for organic baby products as well. If there is one out there can someone let me know?
