A new addition to the more affordable GPS category, the Navigon 2100 max takes a little getting used to because it offers drivers some new bells n' whistles. After inputting their destination, drivers get options such as route profile based on fast/scenic roads, with elements like traffic, toll roads, many zoom options, a list of all turns previously made, and display of 27 points of interest (POI) categories.

We like the high-quality display, which gives an aerial view while on a highway, but switches to a real, 3-dimensional eye-level perspective, a "Reality View," as you come to a fork on the freeway. This is a fabulous feature and, along with "Lane Assistant," gives a real comfort in visualizing the correct move with multiple lane choices in fast-moving traffic.

This compact GPS system is easily windshield mounted and boasts a bright 3"x4" display that makes it easy for both the driver and passenger to read while in motion, a good thing because the annoying female GPS voice offers advice way too often. Always-on details include the speed limit on current road, name of town and mileage/time to destination. In combination with verbal instruction, the Navigon 2100 max display helps the driver keep eyes on the road and it's really easy to read; a good option for those with eyesight limitations.
