Starwood Hotels Togethering Activities, Discounts & More...
Families are busier than ever and quality time -- at least, together -- can be hard to come by. Now, Starwood Hotels & Resorts is extending some help to vacationing families with the launch of new togethering programs, activities, and discount incentives.
Starwood's first-ever Family Travel Program, Love Your Family, debuts in 29 Resorts across the U.S. and Caribbean with newly appointed Directors of Fun to lead family activities designed for kids and grownups. Properties include Sheraton, Westin, St. Regis and The Luxury Collection Resorts. The program will also expand internationally to Canada, Latin America and Europe by 2009.
Families of all ages can gather for Fireside Storytelling with professional storytellers and marshmallow roasts, Stargazing with telescopes for a close-up look at the night sky and constellations, and Dive-In Movies with swimming and family films showing outdoors around the resort's pool. Each resort may also offer activities designated for teens only and specialized to individual properties.
But Starwood looks beyond just fun with convenient features including connecting rooms, food and beverage discounts, child safety accessories, at least one family TV viewing area, and unique packages coordinated by each resort's "Director of Fun." To help make guests' vacations even more affordable, the Love Your Family program lets children 5 and under eat free while ages 6 to 12 receive 50% off the regular menu with child portions.
While Starwood encourages family togetherness, they also know Mom and Dad need a night off to regroup and refresh to make the most out of their vacation. And kids need a night away from Mom and Dad, too. While parents enjoy their guilt-free night out, children enjoy their own evening full of special counselor-led activities.
The new Love Your Family program was developed with extensive customer research, guest feedback and old-fashioned common sense. "The purpose of Love Your Family is not only to help families maximize their time together, but to create memories that will last well beyond the flight home," says Matt Ouimet, President, Starwood Hotel Group.
