Greyhound Reduces Fares 45% for Select Schedules & Routes

Popular Greyhound bus routes in California, Illinois, Florida, Michigan, and Ohio are sellling at an overall cheaper fare as of February 2008. When traveling Monday through Thursday, these special routes are reduced 45%, and up to 38% off for weekend travel.

This discount applies to tickets purchased in Greyhound terminals, so there is no need to preorder tickets to receive the reduced fares.

Participating routes include travel between San Francisco, Santa Barbara, San Jose, and San Luis Obispo, as well as Oakland, Salinas, and Los Angeles destinations. As Californians know, these are great cities to pair up for a weekend getaway, when the driver can leave the driving to someone else.

Within Florida, origin bus terminals include Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale, as well as travel between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, or from Jacksonville to either Orlando or Tampa. Again, these routes enable visitors flying into one airport to sightsee in several areas and fly home from another city, without renting a car.

Illinois routes offer savings when departing from Chicago to Detroit, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids. Ohio's featured "sale" route is between Cleveland and Detroit. Michigan has a number of reduced fares when departing from Ann Arbor, Benton Harbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Battle Creek.

Traveling by bus is a great and affordable way to see our country and visit friends and family is other cities, plus you can enjoy en route movies and a little leg-stretching time. It's also a safe and affordable way for boarding school or college age teens to travel on their own. These discounted fares are just another reason to try it.

With over 2,300 destinations and nearly 13,000 departures each day, Greyhound is the largest bus transportation provider in North America.

For schedules, discounted fares and ongoing seasonal specials, visit www.greyhound.com or call 800/231-2222.
