Boston's Freedom Trail: 50 Years Means Great Deals for Families
The Freedom Trail in Boston, comprised of 16 original historic sites, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. To commemorate the occassion, The Freedom Trail Foundation's "50 Events to Celebrate 50 Years" Program has joined with Boston hotels to provide special Freedom Trail packages.
Hotel packages include breakfast, parking, arrival gifts and extras specific to your hotel choice. The packages also include a copy of Leonard Weber's The Freedom Trail, An Artist's View, tickets to Freedom Trail museums, or "Walk Into History" tours with a Freedom Trail player.

Boston Omni Parker House Hotel
Fairmont Copley Plaza
Hyatt Regency Boston
Intercontinental Boston
The Langham, Boston
The MidTown Hotel
Millennium Bostonian Hotel
The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common.
Prices vary and may range from $95 per person (based on double occupany) to $515 per couple. Those looking to save should look into The MidTown Hotel or the Boston Omni Parker House Hotel; those looking to splurge can find luxury at the Ritz-Carlton or the Millennium Bostonian Hotel. Packages run until December 30, 2008 and certain restrictions apply.
This year-long, citywide celebration features several summer events. July and August events include Independence Day celebrations, fireworks, Harborfest and a living history weekend with Redcoat re-enactors. September and October events include an 18th-century classical music performance by the Handel & Haydn Society, a fife and drum concert at the opening of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and a Discovery Roxbury tour of Dorchester Heights. November and December events include the 235th reenactment of the Boston Tea Party, Thanksgiving at Plimoth Plantation, a special exhibit at the Bank of America's 18th Century art collection and the opening of the 2008 season of the Historic Holiday Stroll of the Freedom Trail.
