In other nice news, the dysfunctional U.S. government has finally passed the US Travel Promotion Act, which provides some public funding to a public-private partnership that supports inbound tourism to the United States. This is a much needed stimulus in an industry where hotel rates have fallen 14% over the past year, many businesses have closed, thousands have lost jobs... and don't get us started on the airlines. And it passed with a bipartisan vote, 78 to 18.
