Summer is the season to get out and rock at some of Britain's top music festivals, many of which are happily family-friendly.
June 22 - 24 – "Glastonbury"

England's most famous annual rock festival is great for families too! The 2007 lineup includes Van Morrison, Corinne Bailey Rae, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ray Davies, te Who, Gogol Bordello and Paolo Nutini among others.
Tickets will go on sale on Sunday, April 1, 2007. Day tickets are not available, weekend tickets cost £145, and children under 12 are admitted free.
July 13-15 – "Guilfest"

This small countryside festival with a capacity of 10,000 is Time Out''s pick for "Londoners looking for a family day/weekend out." This year's lineup includes 3am, Addy Van Der Bhorg, Asono, Bard, Crazy P, Jimmy Cliff, Funky dory, Ross Cpperman, Cherry Ghost and others performing rock, funk, rhythm and blues, hip hop, techno and reggae. Additionally there are comedy performances, street theatre, arts and crafts exhibitons and children's entertainment. Audience talent is encouraged to visit the Unsung Heroes Stage to try out for their own 15 minutes of fame.
Tickets £40/day/adult, £30/day/child under 16.
July 26-29 – "Cambridge Folk Festival"

In it's 40th year, this council-run, well-established and very organized folk and roots music festival has entertained European families since 1964, and is one of the longest running and most famous folk festivals in the world. Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, the Waterboys, Steve Earle, Kate Rusby, Fiddler's Bid and Ruthie Foster and others are amongst the lineup appearing on three stages, with newcomers to be featured in a special Club Tent.
Full Festival Ticket prices - £92/Adults, £63/Youths (14-16 years) , £24/Children (5-13 years), Free for Under 5s.Camping tickets are also available.
August 9-11 – "Cropredy Festival"
Cropredy, Oxfordshire

The folk group Fairport Convention has organized this pastoral festival in a traditional village near Oxford University for years. This years perfomers include, of course, The Fairport Convention and Friends, as well as Jools Holland, Wishbone Ash, Show of Hands, The Strawbs and the Bucket Boys, among others.
Full Weekend tickets cost £71, and children under 12 attend free if their tickets are ordered with an adult ticket. Daily rates, and camping rates are also available.
August 18-19 – "V2002"
Weston Park, Stafford, and Hylands Park, Chelmsford.

Dance and party tents, several outdoor stages and a variety of stalls and vendors catering to a mixed young couples and family crowd is what you'll find at this famous festival established in 1996. There will be non-stop music and activity, and this year performers include James Morrison, Lemar, Sinead O'Conner, Corinne Bailey, Snow PatrolHappy Mondays and many more.
Tickets are £110/weekend, £130/weekend with camping, £63.50/day.
