Music that Soothes Babies!
by Jesse Spielman

It's not just Row, Row, Row Your Boat--believe it or not, this company produces musical environments designed especially for baby's comfort.

The Lovely Baby CDs (877/695-2229) are a remarkable new innovation from Dutch composer Raimond Lap. These CDs fuse classical and modern (such as blues and reggae) styles with a whole slew of baby noises for vocal accompaniment. The company promises that these CDs will help to soothe and relax babies, as well as the whole family. In fact, the product is directed towards those prenatal to 36-months-old, as well as parents.

To this reviewer, the sound was very bizarre, and almost comical, however our 23-month-old reviewer was mesmerized.  In fact, her mother reported that she, "Stayed there [listening] for at least 10 minutes---and she doesn't stay anywhere for 10 minutes!" Seven CDs have been produced with four with originally composed tracks, one with classical music tunes such as "Für Elise," and "Ode to Joy," in this Lovely Baby style, "Lovely Baby and Daddy" with focus on expectant and new fathers, and even a Christmas album. Visit www.lovelybabycd.com to hear sample tracks and place your order.
