Trends Report: May 2005: Several online and brick 'n' mortar agencies predict a healthy summer ahead, particularly in condo and villa rentals.

In a spring 2005 poll from the Travel Industry Association of America, Americans are expected to take 281 million person-trips of at least 50 miles from home this season, up 1.2% from one year ago.

In another noted trend, online agencies have begun offering vacation condos and furnished units that emulate the space and privacy families enjoy at home. According to a spokesperson, "The vacation rental business is currently a $30 billion dollar a year growth industry that is a cost effective and convenient way for families and groups to travel together."
